(FOLHAPRESS) – A taxa de desemprego do Brasil avançou a 7,9% no primeiro trimestre de 2024, após marcar 7,4% nos três meses finais de 2023, indicou nesta terça-feira (30) o IBGE (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística).
Na mediana, analistas consultados pela agência Bloomberg projetavam taxa de 8,1% para o período de janeiro a março deste ano.
Conforme o IBGE, o número de desempregados foi de 8,6 milhões no primeiro trimestre. O contingente era de 8,1 milhões nos três meses finais de 2023.
A população considerada desempregada reúne pessoas de 14 anos ou mais que estão sem ocupação e que seguem à procura de oportunidades. Quem não está buscando vagas, mesmo sem ter emprego, não faz parte desse contingente nas estatísticas oficiais.
Os dados divulgados nesta terça integram a Pnad Contínua (Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios Contínua).
O levantamento do IBGE contempla tanto atividades formais quanto informais. Ou seja, abrange desde os empregos com carteira assinada e CNPJ até os populares bicos.
