Cássio reforça parceria com elenco corintiano: ‘Que líder eu seria se deixasse vocês na mão?’

O goleiro Cássio fez forte desabafo após a derrota do Corinthians para o Argentinos Juniors pela Copa Sul-Americana. O arqueiro foi muito criticado pelo gol da equipe argentina e chegou a sinalizar possível saída do clube na ocasião. Já no domingo, o alvinegro enfrentou o Fluminense pelo Campeonato Brasileiro e venceu por 3 a 0, mas o camisa 12 ficou no banco de reservas.

“A primeira coisa é a gente ter humildade, não ter vaidade. Quando o mister (António Oliveira) falou que o (Carlos) Miguel ia jogar, ele me perguntou se eu queria sair de folga. Se eu quisesse, ele me dava folga. Mas que líder seria eu se eu deixasse vocês na mão na situação em que a gente estava? Eu jamais faria isso”, disse Cássio em vídeo divulgado pela Corinthians TV no YouTube.

No discurso, o goleiro também destacou a importância da união dos atletas para que a equipe continue no caminho dos triunfos, e ressaltou estar feliz com o resultado alcançado diante do time comandado por Fernando Diniz.

“Não é jogador, é grupo. Grupo ganha coisas. Pode estar até chateado por não jogar, isso é normal, mas ter humildade de ajudar o companheiro, de estar junto! Esse é o caminho. A gente passou por dias difíceis com derrotas, jogos difíceis, mas é o começo. A gente não pode baixar a guarda. Feliz pela resposta, pela personalidade de todo mundo”, afirmou o goleiro.

O Corinthians volta a campo nesta quarta-feira, às 20h, pela terceira rodada da Copa do Brasil, em partida contra o América-RN fora de casa. No sábado, a equipe comandada por António Oliveira enfrenta o Fortaleza às 16h na Neo Química Arena pelo Brasileirão.
