SÃO JOSÉ DOS CAMPOS, SP (FOLHAPRESS) – A Azul investiu mais de R$ 3 bilhões em 13 novas aeronaves 195-E2 da Embraer que serão entregues ao longo dos próximos meses, até o fim do ano. Elas se somam aos 20 aviões que a companhia já possui da fabricante brasileira de aeronaves.
O anúncio foi feito em evento na fábrica da Embraer em São José dos Campos (SP) nesta sexta-feira (26), com a presença do presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
Lula batizou a primeira aeronave das 13 que serão entregues, em cerimônia que também contou com ministros e os presidentes da Embraer e da Azul, Francisco Gomes Neto e John Rodgerson, respectivamente.
Durante a cerimônia, Rodgerson agradeceu os ministros de Lula, com destaque ao chefe da pasta de Portos e Aeroportos, Silvio Costa Filho. Ele reconheceu o apoio de Costa Filho, mas também cutucou o político ao dizer que ele cobra muito da Azul.
O CEO da companhia aérea também falou dos desafios para o setor em meio às altas de preços dos combustíveis e do dólar. No ano passado, as passagens aéreas foram um dos itens que mais pressionaram o IPCA (Índice de Preços ao Consumidor Amplo).
O presidente da Embraer também discursou na cerimônia e anunciou o investimento de R$ 2 bilhões neste ano, o que gerará mais de 900 empregos nas fábricas da companhia no Brasil, segundo ele.
Lula, por sua vez, teceu elogios a empresas brasileiras como a Embraer e a Azul. Sem citar os preços altos das passagens aéreas, o presidente da República incentivou que os brasileiros priorizem os destinos brasileiros acima de lugares famosos no mundo como o Louvre, museu de Paris, na França, e a Disney, conjunto de parques dos Estados Unidos.
Segundo ele, os integrantes do poder precisam trocar o discurso para mostrar aos brasileiros a necessidade de eles conhecerem o território nacional.

O presidente da República disse ainda que quer implementar medidas para reduzir a zero o desmatamento e preservar a Amazônia, não para que esta seja um “santuário para a humanidade”, demarcada e trancada, mas para que ela seja fonte de riquezas, um destino turístico para o mundo inteiro.
Lula voltou a falar em criar condições para que os pobres voltem a andar de avião. E criticou as pessoas que se incomodam com a presença de pessoas de baixa renda nos voos.
“Tinha gente que não gostava de ver pobres dentro de avião, porque às vezes eles não sabiam nem sentar na cadeira, não sabiam colocar a mala lá, às vezes iam no banheiro e não sabiam fechar a porta. Aí ao invés de ensinar, ficava nervosinho”, disse o presidente.
“Pois eu vou dizer uma coisa para vocês, este país só vai melhorar quando as pessoas mais humildes voltarem a andar de avião”, completou.
O presidente ainda voltou a elogiar seus ministros por conseguirem negociar para aprovar uma reforma tributária no país após décadas de tentativas, e citou nominalmente Fernando Haddad (Fazenda), voltando a dizer que ele merece receber o prêmio Nobel.
“Quando ele fez o Desenrola [programa de renegociação de dívidas] eu achei que fosse para me enrolar. E está dando certo. As pessoas estão negociando dívidas e pagando só 10%”, afirmou.
Também presente no evento, Haddad disse que é preciso desenvolver a aviação regional para que ela faça parte do dia a dia dos brasileiros, e destacou que o segmento possui alíquota diferencial na reforma tributária.
“Nós temos um país continental, que, para além das capitais e das grandes cidades, existe um enorme número de brasileiros que quer visitar suas famílias, que quer fazer turismo no interior ou no litoral distante das capitais. Se a gente não compreender que o Brasil precisa de mais serviços aéreos, nós vamos ficar para trás”, afirmou o ministro.
As aquisições da Azul acontecem em meio à escassez de aeronaves no mundo, enquanto há uma crise de produção que afeta as entregas da Boeing e da Airbus. Companhias aéreas internacionais têm gastado bilhões de dólares para a manutenção de aviões e, assim, conseguir voando com modelos antigos.
